Setting your Personal Goals - Why

Life is subjective, and how each person aims to live to reach her own goals and purpose is up to her individual motivation. And how you pursue your own goals is important too. You can have your WHY - your personal goal in life and your ultimate achievements - but do you have the HOW?

A manager once told me that the means justifies the end. The process at which you get through to reach your personal or company goal has to be the most effective and time-efficient method, even if it includes upsetting others or missing lunch to get it done. There's some truth to this statement when it comes to work, but at what expense? Those of others and your own welfare? When this statement wears you and others down, its not something that will sustain you in the long-run. (I missed many meals as a result.)

So the process at which you aim to achieve your goals is not and should not be short-cut. In work or diet or exercise, there is no short-cut to success. And success is a ladder, not an elevator... you're gonna have to climb it one rung at a time.

Take some time to evaluate your personal career or diet or exercise goals and renew these goals in your life. (I'm sure you made some in the new year as resolutions, you can use those as starters.) And when your goals are set, put them down some place so you can refer back to them:
  1. in a diary
  2. tell a friend/family member so they can keep you accountable
  3. post-it on the mirror where you'll check yourself every morning
  4. phone or laptop wallpaper
  5. write your goals in the comment section below, and I can check in on you if you want.
Don't be impatient in getting your ideal weight or success story. Enjoy the process! If you require a more structured and disciplined approach to your goals, just fill out this form and I will get in touch with you! Or contact me for more information.
